Spring Cleaning.....

Ah, Spring. All I want to do is sit back and smell the fresh blooms I've just placed in a vase. But it also reminds me that my once organized house is now in disarray every time I open a cabinet. I need some spring cleaning tips... anyone want to share?

I too am in the Spring cleaning mode! My tip is to start with cleaning the windows, having clean windows washes away all the dull film and water spots from over the winter, I am always amazed at how my view improves when we are done!
I use 1/2 cup white vinegar, 2 tab. dish soap, and 1/4 lemon juice to 2 gallons hot water. I use the squeege with the scrubber on one side and Sham WOW towels to wipe!

Blessings, and happy Spring days ahead, hope you get all your chores done quickly so you can play outside...
XO,
Donna Lynn

PS I read your post on your cottage search, have you ever read Total Money Makeover, by Dave Ramsey?? It is truly a must read, especially in these trying financial times, the churches hold his Financial Peace University classes too, check online for a class near you. He really has great advice for first time home buyers, great wisdom born out of hardship!!!

OK, here are some of my tips. ;)

A little at a time. Don't get overwhelmed! one closet - or one bureau or one set of drawers. Don't try and do an entire room. If you picked one space a day - think how much you'd have done over the next 7 days.

PURGE!!! Ask yourself - do you love it? If you do - find a home for it. If you don't, put it in the Goodwill bag or Garage Sale box. If you haven't used it or looked at it over the past 12 months - do you really need it?

Clean as you go, top to bottom.

Most likely half of what you want cleaned, just needs a little reorganization. Make it quick and simple. If you think "I'd like this one space to look really, really nice" clean it first, then go on and finish whatever else you want done and then come back to it - to fluff it up.

Take pictures. You don't have to post them, nobody will see them but you, but just take a before and after picture and you'll be amazed how good you will feel!!!

Good luck!

Thanks so much Karen! The way you suggested will make it not so overwhelming too. Thanks again, I will be ready tomorrow to clean, clean, clean.
