My husband and I have decided to turn the spare room into a guest room. So I though I'd browse the net for some inspiration.
We're going for an eclectic English country feel. Something not too feminine or masculine. We want to offer the room to traveling missionaries who visit our church. We don't have the nicest place, have only a twin bed for the room and they wouldn't have their own bathroom, but even if we don't have much, we still can offer something. Currently it's painted a baby blue, which I like, though I'm thinking about adding a periwinkle glaze over it. Hmmm.... oak pieces, soft lighting and comfy linens. Let's see what else I can find....
Alright, so this really isn't English country, but I love the blend of colors and textures. And the purple walls. Look familiar? he he. (Monica's apartment on Friends)
Okay, this is more like it. Indeed my favorite! Love the desk!
Just makes me want to climb up and snooze away. Zzzzz....
It's the comforter, which I think is a Waverly one at Target that caught my eye. I can imagine waking up to the smell of a yummy breakfast in this bed.
Some things I'd like to add to the room. All from the Victorian Trading Company.

Hi Mo,
When my children left home, one at a time....I turned 2 rooms into guest rooms. We only have 1 bathroom as well, our home is about 60 yrs old and I think they only thought 1 bathroom was enough. We survived with 5 living here at one time. Well anyway. I had so much fun re doing them on pennys. When you have time take a look at my Victorian guest room. Just a little paint and a friend gave me the bed.(lucky me) I love the way it turned out. I don't think I bought 1 thing except the paint and new molding.
Can not wait to see what you come up with. I know it will be beautiful and cozy!!!!
Hugs,
mo :-)
